What is Trauma-Informed Yoga?

Trauma-informed yoga is a compassionate approach to movement that prioritizes safety, choice, and respect for each individual's lived experience. It recognizes that the body holds memory, and that certain sensations, cues, or environments can feel unsafe for those who have experienced trauma, even when the intention is healing.

Rather than pushing students toward perfection or performance, trauma-informed yoga invites empowerment. It emphasizes consent, autonomy, and nervous system awareness. Teachers offer options instead of demands, avoid hands-on assists unless explicitly agreed upon, and create a predictable, supportive environment where participants can move at their own pace.

In this space, students are encouraged to listen inward, honor their boundaries, and reconnect with their bodies in a way that feels safe, grounded, and sovereign. The goal is not just physical flexibility or strength, but a deeper sense of trust, regulation, and self-connection.

Trauma-informed yoga understands that healing is not linear, and that every body deserves gentleness, dignity, and care.

Hatha Flow

Tuesday 4:45: Hatha Flow blends the mindful pace of Hatha Slow with the fluid movement of Vinyasa for an invigorating, non-heated practice. This class supports both mindful movement and full-body vitality.
